Half Day CIEH Principles of Manual Handling

Course Aim: To introduce candidates to the hazards of manual handling, the risks involved and controls available.  It will also equip the candidates with the knowledge and skills to be able to carry out manual handling safely without the risk of injuring themselves or others.

Who Should Attend: This course has been designed for those persons who conduct or supervise manual handling activities in the workplace.

Course Content:

  • Manual Handling Legislation and Regulation
  • Managing Health and Safety – moral, economic and legal
  • Ergonomics – How the spine works
  • Manual Handling injuries and the activities which cause them
  • Manual Handling Risk Assessment and Control Measures
  • Safe Lifting Techniques with practical demonstrations

 

If your organisation has a specific area of training that is not included, or you require a more in-depth session, then we can accommodate you by providing additional training in that particular subject.

Certification: A certificate of competence will be issued to all candidates on the successful completion of the course and a multiple choice assessment.

Numbers: A minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course.

Location: We are able to deliver this course on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises or we can source a suitable location if necessary.
