Fire Warden Training

Course Aim: To introduce candidates to the hazards associated with fire, the knowledge and skills associated with raising the alarm and the preventative actions that can  be taken to avoid a fire in the workplace.   In addition we will help the fire warden to understand their role and responsibilities to meet fire safety obligations in line with legislation and guidelines.

Who Should Attend: The training meets the minimum requirements under the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 which came into force in October 2006.

Businesses should have designated staff trained as fire wardens who will be providing fire safety advice and assistance in the event of an emergency.

Course Content:

  • Awareness of the dangers of fire
  • Understanding what to do in the event of a fire alarm
  • Being able to evacuate the building
  • Principles of combustion and spread of fire
  • Identifying fire hazards and minimising fire risk.
  • Types and meanings of fire signs
  • Fire procedures in the workplace
  • Responding to the fire alarm
  • Responding to an outbreak of fire
  • Practical use of fire extinguishers
  • The role and responsibilities of the fire warden
  • Evacuation drill management & liaising with the fire service

If your organisation has a specific area of training that is not included, or you require a more in-depth session, then we can accommodate you by providing additional training in that particular subject.

Certification: Candidates will be issued certificates on the successful completion of the course.

Numbers: A minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 students can be accommodated on this course.

Location: We are able to deliver this course on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises or we can source a suitable location if necessary.
