1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work Course

This new HSE approved qualification came into effect from 1st October 2009, along with new guidance on assessing the needs of First Aid in  your workplace.

Duration: A minimum of 6 hours consisting of theoretical and practical activities.

A range of subjects is covered including:

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Resuscitation
  • Angina
  • Heart Attacks
  • Choking
  • Basic hygiene in First Aid
  • Bleeding control
  • Shock
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Minor injuries
  • Seizures

 

If your organisation has a specific area of training that is not included, or you require a more in-depth session, then we can accommodate you by providing additional training in that particular subject.

Certification: Subject to assessment, all participants will be issued with a certificate (and wallet card) approved by the Health and Safety Executive. This qualification is valid for three years. The HSE strongly recommends that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of a minimum three hours duration, but this is not mandatory.

Numbers: A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and each participant must be aged a minimum of 14 years or above.

Location: We are able to deliver this course on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises or we can source a suitable location if necessary.
